Dr. Vargas is an exceptionally accomplished professional, but he also makes time to enjoy life beyond the office. He’s a kayaker, a swimmer, an avid reader and a classic movie buff with, Back to the Future, The Godfather, and Rocky topping his list of great films. From watching Formula One racing to collecting classic Donald Duck memorabilia to following his beloved Washington Football Team and the Nationals, he seeks to make the most out of all life has to offer.

As a highly regarded dental professional, Dr. Vargas’ compelling research on dental implant alloys received an award from the prestigious American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In addition to receiving this award, his work was published in the top scientific journal on the subject, The International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He has also served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland Dental School.

After receiving his dental degree from Xavier University in Bogotá, Colombia in 1984, he enrolled in two post-graduate programs at the prestigious State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He completed his Certificate in Prosthodontics in 1990 and his Master of Oral Sciences in 1991. Following his post-graduate work, Dr. Vargas began to serve patients throughout the Bowie area starting in 1991.

He is also a respected member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Maryland State Dental Association.
