GENERAL FAMILY CARE INCLUDES:
Preventive Care
It’s a known fact that routine dental cleanings are essential in preventing tooth decay and gum disease. Preventive care visits also give Dr. Vargas and his team the opportunity to check your overall oral health, helping to catch any potential issues early, before they turn into painful problems that require expensive treatments.
Fluoride Treatment
We provide fluoride treatments for our patients for added protection. It’s a quick, easy treatment—usually done immediately after a cleaning—that involves applying a concentrated fluoride solution on your teeth. It takes virtually no time, and in 30 minutes, you can eat and drink whatever you want.
Oral Cancer Screening
Sadly, over 3 million cases of oral cancer are diagnosed per year in the U.S. Smokers and tobacco users are especially at risk. That’s why we screen our patients for oral cancer, because—if caught early—treatment is typically more successful and the effects less devastating. Please ask us about the risks of oral cancer at your next appointment.
Extractions
While we aim to keep your smile intact as much as possible, sometimes problems arise and a tooth or multiple teeth need to be extracted. In most cases, we can perform the procedure in our office, with little to no pain, and in just one visit.
Child’s First Visit
The ADA recommends that a child’s first dental visit take place within 6 months after the first tooth appears and no later than their first birthday. At your child’s first visit, Dr. Vargas will check that teeth appear healthy and that there are no signs of decay or anything else that could potentially become a problem. Plus, by starting regular dental checkups at an early age, your child will grow up comfortable going to the dentist and will also understand the importance of maintaining good oral health.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Composite (a.k.a. tooth-colored) fillings are great because they enable you to keep the confidence of your natural smile while also offering a healthy approach to repairing damaged teeth. They blend in with the natural color of your teeth so that no one—not even you—can tell you have them. Now that’s something to smile about!
Sealants
Dental sealants help prevent tooth decay in children and adults by sealing the deeper crevices in those harder-to-reach teeth, usually the molars. The procedure is fairly simple and absolutely painless, and the durable sealant material can last up to 10 years with proper care.
Root Canal Therapy
With the latest technology and techniques, a root canal does not have to be a pain. In fact, root canal therapy is similar to getting a filling. Treatment may only take one or two appointments and is relatively painless in most cases.
